Hosting systems keep routine logs such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We review this in aggregate for reliability and readership patterns. Cookies or similar tools can support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
The limited information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvements. We do not sell visitor lists or construct individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links lead to county and state record portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policies of those services govern information submitted there, including information entered through sponsored search results.

Hosting and support providers process necessary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic technical data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it and not otherwise.
Safeguards
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described above. No visitor accounts are offered, so we do not maintain visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held by a reference service. The research did not identify a verified comprehensive Michigan consumer-privacy statute to cite here. Because we keep very little, a request generally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what is found. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Michigan, Monroe County, or Bedford Township offices remain under the control of their custodians.
